As you may have seen in NMAC Executive Director Paul Kawata’s newsletter earlier this week, USCHA in Puerto Rico is a go for October. Following Hurricane Fiona left most of Puerto Rico without electricity, NMAC left it up to the host committee, which unanimously voted to go ahead with the conference. The host committee determined that now is the time for NMAC and the broader HIV community to support communities in Puerto Rico during their time of need. MPV will prominently feature at the conference – including an educational and skills-building institute, a plenary session and a town hall meeting that will allow community members to voice their needs and demands to health officials from federal, state and local governments. We’ll have more information on these MPV sessions in next week’s MPV newsletter.
